year agoWhen a place has been around since the 19th century is now both queer & vegan friendly, that says something! We enjoyed delicious local beer on tap and each person had the exact burger they wanted. The servers were attentive and kind - food came fast and was all made fresh. Definitely stop by here next time you’re near union square - or make it your destination activity.

10 months agoClassic nyc Irish ☘️ pub near union square. You feel the history of old New York the second you walk in. They have a full menu and plenty of beers. It was packed when we came and it was a perfect Thursday night in Manhattan !

year agoThis was my first visit and I have to give it a perfect score because the staff and the food was amazing. The cheeseburger was top-notch, and the coleslaw was definitely in the top five I've ever had! Next time you're in New York, make sure you visit this iconic spot and top off your meal with a Manhattan!

3 months ago🍻✨ Old Town Bar – A Living Piece of New York History 🗽🇺🇸 New York is filled with places that proudly carry the spirit of NYC, New York State, and the United States of America — places that represent history, character, and authentic city culture. Old Town Bar is absolutely one of those legendary places. 🇺🇸✨ And honestly… only real Yankees/New Yorkers truly understand what I’m talking about. Walking into Old Town Bar feels like stepping into a preserved chapter of New York itself — timeless atmosphere, unforgettable energy, and the kind of authenticity that can never be manufactured. 🍺🕰️ But what truly keeps this iconic place alive is the people behind it. The staff are beyond words — wonderful, welcoming, professional, and genuinely amazing. Their warmth and dedication are not just part of the experience; they are one of the main reasons why Old Town Bar continues to stand strong through generations. 🙌❤️ Some places serve drinks. Some places serve history. Old Town Bar serves both. 🙏 God protect and bless every one of you there. You are not only maintaining a business — you are protecting a true piece of New York identity and heritage. 🗽✨

9 months agoThis is a tough area of town to find a nice dive spot. This could be it. It has dive bar feel but not dive bar prices. Feels like putting on an old broken in shoe when you sidle up to the bar. The bartenders were top notch. I wish i could remember their names so I could shout them out as being top notch, polite friendly and on top of the customers. It was busy when we got there but we were able to sit at the bar. We had some whiskey’s some beers and and enjoyable convo with family we rarely see. The volume in the bar was loud enough to feel like you’re doing something, but quiet enough to converse. Food wasn’t bad, but nothing special honestly. I’m coming here for the vibes and staff. If we’re in this part of town again, we will definitely be coming back.

6 months agoNo venue is as old school as Old Town Bar. No TVs and no loud music just great drinks and great food. We visited during the great snowstorm of 2026 and in the middle of all the snow, we got outstanding wings and potato leek soup to go with our drinks. We went for dry wings with buffalo sauce on the side and they were so good we ordered two more portions. We also enjoyed the tenders but the wings were better. The chili was also yummy and we’ll be back with or without the snow.

6 months agoOld Town Bar in the Flatiron area was a fantastic stop for food and drinks for a dive bar, and I’m really glad it was recommended to us. From the moment we walked in, the place had that classic New York bar feel—full of character, history, and energy. It was packed when we arrived, which is always a great sign, and despite how busy it was, we were able to grab seats at the bar pretty quickly. The drinks were fresh, well-made, and came out fast. The bartenders and staff were all super friendly and attentive, even with how crowded it was. They kept everything moving smoothly and made sure everyone was taken care of, which definitely added to the overall experience. The food was surprisingly great for bar food and exceeded expectations. We ordered the potato wedges from the specials menu, and they were incredible—crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, and honestly filling enough to be a meal on their own. We also got the potato sticks (I forget the exact Irish name), and those were just as good. Everything tasted fresh, hot, and well-prepared, which isn’t always guaranteed at a busy bar. One of the coolest parts of the spot is the layout. There’s an upstairs seating area as well, which gives you more options depending on the vibe you’re going for. The entire place has a historic charm, and you can tell it’s been around for a long time in the best way possible. It feels authentic and not overly polished or modernized, which adds to its appeal. Overall, Old Town Bar is a great place to stop for drinks, solid bar food, and a lively atmosphere. Between the fast service, friendly staff, great food, and classic New York feel, it’s definitely a spot I’d recommend. I would absolutely come back anytime I’m in the Flatiron area and looking for a reliable, fun place to hang out.

month agoIf you’re looking for an authentic New York City bar experience, make Old Town Bar your next stop. This place is a true NYC institution, with timeless character, historic interiors, and the kind of atmosphere you just can’t recreate. The dark wood, vintage decor, and classic pub energy make you feel like you’ve stepped into old New York. I had the Clam Roll, and even though it doesn’t look like your typical seafood sandwich, don’t let appearances fool you—it was absolutely delicious. Crispy, flavorful, generously packed, and served with perfectly cooked fries, house-made tartar sauce, pickles, and lemon. It’s comfort food done right. The Guinness was outstanding—poured perfectly, cold, creamy, and exactly how a pint should be. Pair that with friendly, attentive service, and you’ve got one of the best classic pub experiences in Manhattan. Whether you’re craving a great seafood sandwich, an incredible pint of Guinness, or simply want to experience one of New York City’s legendary historic bars, Old Town Bar is a must-visit. I’ll definitely be coming back. 🍺🦪🇮🇪
